In the study titled “Nutrient intake and obesity in prepubescent children with Down syndrome”, nutrient intake and body composition in prepubescent children with Down syndrome were measured to assess nutritional barriers in preventing and treating obesity. The finding of energy intake being lower in children with Down syndrome highlights the need for improved nutritional practices and increased exercise to prevent and treat obesity. While the study itself does not provide data or propose specific methods to prevent and treat obesity, its findings provide a base for further research on the importance of physical activity in children with Down syndrome.
